About the Founder

Hi world! My name is Heidi Rentz and it’s an honor to introduce myself in this space and welcome you all to Patagonia, Arizona, at the very beginning of March. My passion for hospitality and hosting events with a party-style twist(!) has ultimately been the driving force in pushing me to finally launch a trail running race that I’ve been dreaming up for years.

A little bit about me:

I spent my 20’s in Moab, Utah guiding mountain bike tours while racing my mountain bike + off-road triathlon simultaneously on the professional level. Running trail became a huge part of my life while I was there. The Moab Red Hot & The Moab Trail Marathon are my most treasured memories of the pure simplicity of running my heart out on trails that mean the world to me.

My husband Zander and I are believers in the power of manifestation and it’s surely taken us to some wild places during our careers. When we were 30 years old, we started our boutique cycling tour company; The Cyclist’s Menu (TCM). TCM has been the heart and soul of our lives for the past 11 years; planning & operating trips is our most beloved job. When we aren’t running trips, we keep ourselves busy at home in Patagonia, AZ with our gravel cycling race event; The Spirit World 100, and The Gravel House; our 9 bedroom hotel + 2 home rental property.

I am so dang excited to welcome you all to Patagonia alongside with my husband Zander, our (almost) 2 year old little girl, Burchie & our 100 lbs golden retriever, Big Sky. Your big adventure on foot in early March is going to be out of this world(!) and we can’t wait to support & cheer you on in addition to sharing this special moment in time with each of you.
